Bread Pudding tested positive for FIV (Feline Immunodeficiency Virus). FIV is a virus that suppresses a cat’s immune system. This means they are more susceptible to illnesses. Recovery time of illnesses may also be lengthened. FIV infects 3-5% of the cat population. With good care, many cats with FIV have a similar lifespan as cats without FIV. FIV cannot be transmitted to people. FIV can only be passed from cat to cat if the FIV cat bites another causing a deep wound. To practice the highest level of safety, we are looking for an adopting home with no other cats, or resident cats that are also FIV positive.

Bread Pudding is a 2-year-old short-hair female. Her adoption fee is $55.

All cats adopted through HSPC are spayed/neutered, microchipped, FeLV & FIV tested, and receive core vaccinations (younger kittens may not be fully vaccinated due to age). If you have any questions or concerns, please email the Cat Adoption Manager at adoption@hspcwi.org
